Kevin M. Johnston is an MSU Curriculum Development Specialist and Director of Michigan State University's Teaching Assistant Programs. He developed an early interest in inter-cultural communication and teaching while working in South-East Asia, the South Pacific, and Europe as a crypto-analyst with the Marine Corps. Those interests, maintained since through the completion of humanities degrees at UNC-CH and Middle Tennessee State University, teaching university-level History, and over a decade of work in graduate student teaching development, eventually led him to his present research, which focuses on International Teaching Assistants' perceptions of U.S. classroom incivility and the role culture plays in pedagogical practice. Kevin has presented internationally on a wide range of issues devoted to teaching development in higher education, graduate student professional development, technology use in the classroom, and organizational development. He is the author of MSU Teaching Thoughts, located on the TAP website at http://tap.msu.edu/nvgt/rescs/thoughts.htm, a local representative coordinating Diversity initiatives for the Center for the Integration of Teaching and Learning (CIRTL), and manager/coach of TAP Wednesday, a futbol team comprised of MSU TAs. Kevin is ABD in Southern History and seeking to complete a doctoral program in Educational Administration. |

Zeynep Altinsel joined the Teaching Assistant Program in 1992. She received her BA in English from Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey, and her M.A. in TESOL from MSU. Zeynep teaches the ITA Speaking and Listening Class at MSU. She is in charge of the ITA Buddy Program and the TEAM Program. |

Denise Greenhoe began her current position as office manager in August 1996. She was Assistant Vice-President for First of America Bank for 18 years before coming to MSU. Besides running our office, balancing the books, and keeping track of our student employees, she enjoys dancing, music, and sleeping. |

Monika Dietrich is the current undergraduate office assistant. She is a third-year student in the Lyman Briggs School of Science studying nutritional science, and is in the Medical Scholars Program. She enjoys cooking, camping, traveling and studying Spanish and German. |

Brian Holcomb joined TAP in 2006. He is from North Carolina, and received his MA in English from UNC-Charlotte. He is working on his Ph.D. in English at MSU, and hopes to complete his dissertation on 20th century humor in spring of 2008. |
