Q: Does the Teaching Assistant Program hire TAs?
A: No.The TA needs to contact their department Grad Secretary or Director to find open TA appointments. We have provided a list of Teaching Assistant Employing Units. To improve graduate student professional development and undergraduate instruction, Michigan State University's Teaching Assistant Program (TAP) provides a wide variety of resources and services in support of the teaching and learning development of all MSU teaching assistants (TAs).
Q: Where do I sign up for the SPEAK test and what is the testing schedule?
A: Contact the English Language Center at 353-0800 or visit their web site A SPEAK test practice tape and booket (call number TAS000#25) are on reserve at the Audio Visual Library (4th floor west wing, Main Library).
Q: Can the TA submit the Reservation Form to the TA Program if they want to attend the International TA Orientation or Seminar on College Teaching?
A: No. Reservation Forms should be submitted to the TA Program by the Department's Grad Secretary or Director (if they determine that the TA should attend and there is no conflict with their department's training/orientation schedule).
