FASEB 2008
This is the April 6, 2008 presentation, an hour-long experience introducing participants to the TP development process. The slides prompted observers to consider several key questions when developing their statements; questions whose answers form the basis of an effective teaching philosophy. The workshop involved small-group work, discussion, and periodic participant reflection. I encouraged attendees to put pen to paper as I led them through a series of responsive (and practical) exercises designed to get them writing (Hopefully, participants left the experience with a workable scaffold upon which they could later build effective statements.). As I mentioned above, this was an introduction to writing a statement, intended for scientific audiences. Please consult Creating a Teaching Philosophy Parts I & II for detailed guidelines. APA recorded the session. As soon as the PODCAST is available, I will post it to this site.
